Weekend class

Is your child in group 7 or 8? Does your child want to learn new things? Then WeekendKlas might be something for her/him!

At WeekendKlas, students are introduced to professions such as doctor, real estate agent, architect and physiotherapist and creative professions such as illustrator, theatre maker and fashion designer. Guest speakers talk about their profession, in our classroom in Rijksmuseum Boerhaave in Leiden or at their own workplace. This way, students discover what they find interesting and what they are good at.

During Weekend Class, students work on language and reading as well as skills they will need later. For example: communicating clearly, working together, asking good questions and solving problems. To practice this, students literally step into the shoes of certain professions through assignments and games. By discussing topics from the news, children learn to think and participate in discussions about what is happening in the world.

Participating in WeekendKlas is fun and educational and a lot of fun with the group! Weekend Class is every Sunday from 11am to 3pm (school holidays off). Students can participate for one or two years.

Weekend Class is for children from: Leiden, Leiderdorp, Oegstgeest, Voorschoten or Zoeterwoude.

Students receive a Friends Pass from the Rijksmuseum Boerhaave to visit the museum for free with family or friends.
